| Guitar Amplifiers take the low level signal from your electric guitar pickups or effects-chain and boost the signal to pump out of speakers. Guitar amps are classified as either analog (tube amplification) or digital (solid state amplification). Tube amplification is generally considered to be "warmer" and "fuller" than solid state, but advances in solid state amp modeling sometimes makes it hard to tell them apart.
Guitar Amp Cabinets are enclosures of one or more speaker in a cabinet. Guitar Amp Heads are just the amplification section without the speakers. Guitar amp heads are generally paired with one or more speaker cabinets. Guitar Amp Stacks are preconfigured combinations of a guitar amp head with speakers. Guitar Combo Amps combine amplification section and speakers into a single enlosure, and sometimes include additional analog and digital effects and signal routing. Guitar Preamps are generally rack space or table top amplifiers that can be used independantly or in combination with another amplification path.
