Classical and Finger-style Guitar

Music Theory on Piano

To guide you in your unique music journey, Joyce draws on many experiences
from her studies with classical, jazz, and West African master musicians
and teachers.

When you choose Joyce as your teacher, you will have many options!

Beginning to Intermediate-Advanced level is offered on all the main
instruments listed above. She is also able to help you explore whatever
musical paths you wish to follow. Many of her students study more than one
instrument at a time or over a few years.

Joyce’s teaching style is best described as “Focused Listening and Close
Observation of Details, always keeping the student’s unique creativity in
mind.”

Joyce helps students find the most ease in playing instruments. That way,
students experience progress in their first year or two. She also enjoys
practicing WITH her students to model slow review of material.

“Thank you for nurturing my music.”  – an adult musician who returned to
piano after lessons in her youth.

“I enjoy the lessons because you meet me where I am.” – an adult beginner
on several instruments

“I’m so proud to be one of your students. You have inspired me, pushed me
beyond my own limits, and I shall always carry your teachings.”  – a high
school musician, entering college as a music major

Please call Joyce about custom-designed music classes and private lessons!
