Dan Barman Drum Clinic
Brooklyn Based Session Drummer Dan Barman - Free Drum Clinic Presented by Dream Cymbals & Bananas At Large Thursday April 28th, 6:30pm Bananas At Large® 1504 4th St. San Rafael, CA 94901Since moving to Brooklyn from the west coast, award-winning drummer and music educator Dan Barman has made himself known as one of the most talented young drummers in New York City. Barman has been featured in Modern Drummer Magazine as a young DCI World Champion. Longtime drummer for Indie artists Food Will Win the War and Joanie Leeds, he has recorded for several GRAMMY Award winning producers including "Commissioner" Gordon Williams and Dean Jones. As a touring drummer, he has performed at such venues and events as The Hangout Fest, The CMA Music Festival, The Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, The Ed Sullivan Theater and Joe's Pub. Barman's current work includes the award winning single Family Tree by Joanie Leeds (feat. Jonatha Brooke), which won 1st place in The USA Songwriting Competition. RSVP on Facebook
Free Re-String and String-Recycling Event
Is your guitar in need of a re-string? Join Bananas At Large for this exciting event! Bring in your electric or acoustic guitar and get a FREE, fresh set of strings—all while helping the environment.In honor of Earth Day and International Guitar Month, Bananas will host its inaugural Playback event, a D’Addario-sponsored re-string and string-recycling event. The program will accept strings from any manufacturer, and recycle your old strings for you. It’s powered by TerraCycle, a highly awarded, international upcycling and recycling company that collects difficult-to-recycle packaging and products, and repurposes the material into affordable, innovative products. Tuesday 4/12 in San Rafael, 2pm to 6:30pm.Wednesday 4/13 in Santa Rosa, 2pm to 6:00pm. RSVP on Facebook Free re-string event in exchange for old used strings (limited to one restring per customer)*Floyd Rose bridges walk away with a free set not installed. Bass guitars are accepted up to a 5-string.

Pedalboards 101 with Dan Petruzzella - For people who are new to using guitar or bass pedals, with a focus on how to design the best pedalboard. Dan Petruzzella has been on staff at Bananas for the past several years as a guitar specialist. He also performs regularly with the bands Foreverland and Metal Shop. Details: Picking the right pedals- Driving your amp: Boost, OD, distortion - what’s the difference - Modulation effects: Flanger, phaser, vibrato, Leslie simulator? - Reverb and delay selection - Order of your effects chain and how it affects the tone - Buffered or true bypass pedals? What’s the difference? Picking the right power supply- Number of outputs needed - Proper milliamps for effects being used - Proper polarity for your pedals (Is the center - or + on your pedals?)
