Sometimes, the drums are an underestimated part of our favorite music. Think of your favorite song — the chances are pretty high that there's a drum part or some percussive instrument. Now, try imagining the song without any percussion. Weird, right? Drums and percussion are important. But you probably already know that if you're looking for a new set.

When someone mentions drums, most people imagine an acoustic drum kit. However, if you're in the market for a new kit, you shouldn't count out an electronic drum set.

Why Go Electronic?

Some people may say that nothing beats an acoustic set. But electronic drums have come a long way since the technology first popped up.

And no matter how great an acoustic drum kit may be, they just aren't convenient in every situation. If you live in a neighborhood with noise curfews or fussy neighbors, you may have a lot of limitations with when you can play. It can get to the point where it's nearly impossible to play at the volume you want.

Getting electronic drums solves that problem completely. You can plug a good set of headphones directly into the setup, allowing you to play as hard and as late as you want.

There's also a good chance that you won't be able to tell the difference between your electronic drums and their acoustic counterparts. Mimicking sounds from synthesizers and other electronic instruments is almost indistinguishable from the real thing. Electronic drums are also easier to transport because they're much lighter and less bulky than acoustic drums.

The last major perk of going electronic over acoustic is the range of sounds that you can use. If you want a bigger variety of effects and sounds from your acoustic kit, you have to physically get other equipment and accessories to add to your setup. You're confined by space.

With an electronic setup, you can get a huge variety of effects and sounds right on your system without buying anything more.
