FEATURES
A 12-String Tone Unlike Any Other
This unison-tuned 12-string serves up Latin-inspired sound in an affordably priced packaged.

Dreadnought: A classic profile infused with Taylor ingenuity, the Dreadnought boasts a powerful voice with deep lows and sweet trebles, responding beautifully to an aggressive picking attack. With its large lung capacity and generous contours, the Dreadnought serves up a snappy midrange character and remains balanced across the frequency spectrum. Dreadnought guitars from Taylor's Legacy Collection feature classic X-bracing, while Gold Label models feature fanned V-Class bracing and slightly greater depth at the soundhole.
Who is this for: Players who prefer a traditional profile with the playing comfort that comes with any Taylor guitar. Its volume and responsiveness to a strong attack make it a great choice for flatpickers who utilize both strumming and aggressive lead lines.
Sound:
- Warm, powerful low end with punchy trebles for a “modern vintage” voice
- Throaty midrange character
- Lots of headroom for players who like to dig in
Feel & Fit:
- Wider waist causes the guitar to sit slightly higher in the player’s lap
- Traditional look and sound fit bluegrass and other roots music
- Responds well to flatpicking and a strong attack

Sapele Body Wood: A tonewood that joined the Taylor fold over a decade ago, sapele’s tonal output is consistent and balanced across the tonal spectrum, making it compatible with a diverse range of playing styles. It’s sometimes mistakenly referred to as African mahogany because it closely resembles the West African wood khaya, which is commercially known as African mahogany. Sapele is a highly sustainable, relatively fast-growing wood that we’ll be able to offer for a long, long time.
Origin: Central Africa
Sound: With a clear midrange punch and strong fundamental focus, sapele offers a similar tone profile to mahogany, with a little extra treble chime. The note played is the one you'll hear, and sapele tends to produce a controlled overtone response with a dry, woody quality.
Goes Well With: Everything. It’s a great all-purpose tonewood that delivers a consistent, balanced tone in a variety of playing applications, from fingerstyle to strumming.

Spruce Top Wood: By far the most common wood used for acoustic guitar tops, spruce’s ideal combination of stiffness, light weight, flexibility and strength translates into a rich, broadly appealing voice. Luthiers and musicians alike love spruce for its blend of articulation and power, producing well-defined notes across the frequency spectrum backed by a responsive dynamic range that remains balanced at high volumes and clear with a gentle touch.
Origin: Luthiers have made use of several spruce varieties, with Sitka — originating mostly in Canada — currently the most common. Other varieties include Engelmann and Lutz (also mostly found in Canada) as well as Adirondack, a somewhat more premium species found in eastern North America.
Goes Well With: Pretty much any playing style, body wood or body shape. Spruce is highly versatile and performs beautifully across genres and applications.

Expression System® 2: The Taylor Expression System® 2 (ES2) is a revolutionary pickup design that delivers the latest in Taylor’s ongoing innovation in acoustic guitar amplification. The heart of the Expression System 2 is Taylor’s patented behind-the-saddle pickup, which features three uniquely positioned and individually calibrated pickup sensors. The location of the sensors enables a more dynamic range of acoustic sound to be captured than ever before. Together with Taylor’s custom-designed “professional audio”-grade preamp, this system produces exceptional amplified tone and responsiveness. On stage through a PA, plugged into your favorite acoustic amplifier, or direct into recording software, the Expression System 2 faithfully conveys the voice of your Taylor guitar.

Venetian Cutaway: The Venetian cutaway is known for its soft, round lines. The sloping peak of the cutaway will vary depending on the shape of the body. The Grand Concert and Grand Auditorium have a steeper slope, while the Dreadnought is a bit flatter. Taylor's Grand Concert nylon-string models also feature a subtle, flatter slope, while Taylor's 200 Series cutaway models incorporate Taylor's flattest slope.
